To @janetpotsch on Instagram for winning our Proyager Photo Competition!!!

We're proud to feature your beautiful photo across our social media and website and thank you for your entry!

Alice Springs Telegraph Station by Janet Potsch winner of the Proyager Photo Competition

Janet’s caption accompanying this image:

“An amazing historical spot during the day at night with the spotlighted ghost gums Alice Springs “Old Telegraph Station “ seemed surreal. The location amazing and it’s history even more interesting. The Alice Springs Telegraph Station is located within the Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve, four kilometres north of the Alice Springs town centre in the Northern Territory of Australia. Established in 1872 to relay messages between Darwin and Adelaide, it is the original site of the first European settlement in central Australia. It was one of twelve stations along the Overland Telegraph Line.[2]”

Some thoughts from the judges:

“It not only celebrates Australia (eucalyptus, iconic tin roof, basking sunsets), but also how we live and what we love...”

“...there were so many stunning/beautiful images and this stood out to us as the most interesting, emotional and thought provoking.”

A huge thank you to everyone who entered our competition!

We’re sorry you didn’t win this time but of course there can only be one winner. The judges had quite a difficult time deciding on the winner as each and every entry had its own special qualities.

Special mentions:

We’d love to make a special mention to @shay_s_marshall , Marija Basa, @anlybetu , @spohr_photography , @dana.lyons , Liz Barras, Kerri Bates and @shazzar07 who were very close runner ups.
